What is the CMI Program ?

Certified Master Inspector is a professional designation for home inspectors, which is tied to education and experience. A federally trademarked (and protected) designation, CMI is administrated by the Master Inspector Certification Board, a not-for-profit corporation based in Colorado, through MICB-approved schools.

H.I.T. Interactive Media is pleased to announce that it has been granted exclusive rights through the Master Inspector Certification Board, to offer distance-based learning for those seeking CMI status via a non-traditional classroom setting. The courses are available on CD-ROM.

The course contains information, which may encompass materials, components, technologies, and defects, presenting both basic and/or advanced presentation subject matter and format. Test questions are be presented at the conclusion of the course. The intent of the new CMI course is to explore an advanced understanding of the profession, an improvement of inspection knowledge and reporting techniques, and ongoing development of your professional career. At the current time, the course is broken into specific modules, each with a CMI educational point value. The course modules also count towards NACHI approved continuing education requirements.

This is an advanced course with a comprehensive examination. The designation will be awarded upon proof of graduation for those who apply directly to the Master Inspector Certification Board, Inc. (Colorado), when accompanied with any additional program requirements, as established by the MICB at the time of application.
